The great majority of the better club level and tournament level bridge players in the US play some form of the "Two Over One Game Force" or "Western Roth-Stone" systems. Working knowledge of the "2 over 1" is virtually mandatory if one aspires to play with the more serious bridge partners. Class will consist of approximately 50% lecture and demonstration and 50% supervised play at the table. There will be homework hands to discuss.
Topics discussed will include:
- 2 over 1 and the "forcing no trump"
- the principle of fast arrival and exceptions to it
- major suit raise structure, incorporating the forcing no trump
- loser count and cover cards - when to use it and when not to
- fourth suit principle
- the K-S fit
