ELEMENTS OF GOOD DEFENSE

A bridge player is on defense about half the time in any session.  Therefore, it is important that defenders know and understand the best way to gain more tricks for their side.
This series of four classes will look beyond the opening lead to second hand play by a defender, third hand play by a defender and signals.  Basic bidding and declarer play is assumed, but will be reviewed in the process.

Come with or without a partner.  Bridge classes are a good way to meet other local players for future partners and foursomes.  Lots of hands to play and defend!  Participation in the Thursday night game will be encouraged and will be ½ price for enrollees in the class.

BASIC BRIDGE BRUSHUP backto Terra Linda Home page

This class is for players who would like to refresh their understandings of basic bridge and feel more confident as they get back to playing!  Bidding will be stressed, but there will be lots of hands to play to illustrate the ideas.  Declarer play and some defense will also be part of the course.

Playing bridge is wonderful both mentally and socially.  If you have been looking for ways to meet new people and have fun at the same time -- and you played bridge in the past or have taken a Beginning Bridge Class -- this class is for you.  We will review the basic understandings that allow us to get to the best contract, and develop the skills to successfully meet our goals!

Come with a partner or by yourself, where you will meet other players for future partners and foursomes.  The Terra Linda Community Center has a variety of bridge games, too, that will enable newer players the opportunity to play in a fun, supportive atmosphere.  Bridge is a game for a lifetime.  Don’t wait!
(Beginning Bridge classes will start in the fall.)
